The pictures in Sacha Maric’s latest book Schicksal were initially taken 20 years ago. The subjects were all teenagers that he’d meet on the streets of London, at shopping hubs, skate parks, outside clubs and concert venues.
Many years later, the original film photography contact sheets were re-photographed with a macro-lens. Grainy and deliberately out of focus, they serve as a hazy reminiscence of a once adolescent life. The title of the project is German for fate / destiny, and was inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales.
