Olya Oleinic is a visual artist whose work is mainly based in photography, yet often extends to other mediums of tangible nature, such as ceramics, woodwork, installations.
Her body of work can be seen as an ongoing visual research of the human connections and shared memories, collected observations presented in their original form, or transformed into constructed narratives. The images speak through their confident subtlety and focus on the genuine relationship to the subjects, however fleeting or lasting these are.
Olya's work is a reflection on non-territorial identities, notion of truth and interconnectedness amidst the climate of complex and ever-shifting social and cultural matters.
Both themes and means of her practice are based around the objective of building a strong community, one with a sustainable progression and a healthy climate within with a strong focus on exchange.
Her work has been shown in art festivals and museums such as Foam Amsterdam, Red Hook Labs Gallery New York, Nederlands Fotomuseum, Les Recontres D’Arles, Unseen and others. Her clients include Maison Margiela, Chloé, Fred Perry x Raf Simons, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, The Plant Magazine, Apartamento, More or Less. Olya has also released a few printed publications in collaboration with Studio The Future.
